GASTOWN BLUES AND CHILI FEST

We were excited to be a part of the second annual Gastown Blues and Chili Festival this year, and even more excited to win first place!  This amazing event was organized by the Gastown Business Improvement Association and The Revel Room with the support of neighbourhood businesses.  Dennis Brock, owner of The Revel Room wanted to put the event together for a few reasons “to get Gastown and its restaurants exposure and to re-build the live music culture that once thrived in Gastown. There are a great many people who have put a lot of energy into a forgotten neighborhood, a great many who came before this recent revitalization and made it possible for those of us who have followed, this event is meant to bring folks back into Gastown and see the great many independent retailers, restaurateurs, architecture and people who have stuck it out and turned it around.  We aren’t there yet but we are restoring the soul of the city where it all began over 120 years ago. It’s cool to be a part of it and it’s cool to bring all these great people together for one day and have a blast!”

"We dine here often, you can't beat the location for meeting people in the city (especially if you use transit) and the food is always good. The Rogue burger and salmon sandwichr never disappoint, both are hefty portions and the brioche bun on both is a nice gourmet touch. Lobster mac and cheese is good comfort food, try the fish tacos if you want something light and tasty ... hell it's all good. Beer is cheap and the coffee is good quality. Two thumbs up for consistency too." Urban Spoon Review by "Good Taste"
